Clinics & Services

CHILDHOOD IMMUNISATIONS AND CHILD HEALTH SURVEILLANCE A Health Visitor clinic is run on a Wednesday morning. Eight week baby checks and first immunisations are done by Dr Collyer on Thursday afternoons. All other childhood immunisations are performed by our Practice Nurse, Jacqueline Quinn on a Thursday morning.

immunise.jpgMATERNITY CARE is provided by our Community Midwife, Bridget Porter. Antenatal clinics are held on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.

CERVICAL SMEARS are available as part of the well woman check in the nurse clinics.

CONTRACEPTIVE SERVICES are available with either the Practice Nurse or the Doctors. If a woman requires an IUDC (coil) to be fitted, this can be arranged with Dr Ariyaratnam.

MINOR SURGERY is carried out by Dr Ariyaratnam on a Wednesday afternoon.

ADULT IMMUNISATION CLINICS including influenza, holiday vaccinations, tetanus and polio boosters can be arranged by booking an appointment with the Practice Nurse.

Elderly Assessment Clinic is available to everybody aged 65 years and over. This is your chance to discuss anything that may be causing you concern regarding your physical/mental health or if you would just like a thorough health check. We advise that everybody attends  this clinic on an annual basis. The clinic is held by Dr Collyer on a Thursday afternoon at Aylesham Medical Practice and each appointment is for 20 minutes.

PODIATRY These clinics are held on Mondays and Fridays.

ACCUPUNTURE is available on Thursday afternoons. Please make an appointment with one of the doctors if you feel you may benefit from this service.

DIABETES CLINICS are run by our Practice Nurse Margo Farley on Wednesday afternoons. The Paula Carr Trust Retinal Screening Service visits the Surgery several times a year to screen our diabetic patients for the early signs of diabetic retinopathy.

PHYSIOTHERAPIST. Twice weekly clinics are held. Appointments are available by referral from a GP.

COUNCELLORS are available to see patients who have been referred by asmoking.jpg Doctor. Regular sessions are held in the Health Centre.

PHLEBOTOMY is available every morning by appointment.

SMOKING CESSATION CLINIC is available within the surgery. If you would like to give up smoking please leave your name and contact details with the receptionist who will then contact you in due course with an appointment. The clinic is run by a fully qualified smoking cessation advisor.

CHLAMYDIA TESTING is advised for all  patients between the ages of 15 and 24 years.
